Banana Reese's Cookies

A few weeks ago, I was browsing around other blogs looking for eggless recipes and stumbled upon this amazing recipe at  Inside Bru Crew Life.

These cookies looked incredibly delicious, so I knew I had to show my daughter the recipe.  Sure enough, she agreed to make them, as long as we had the ingredients in-house.

Fortunately, we had all that we needed, so little Miss Happy Baker got to work.  ~A name I've given her because there isn't one thing that she's baked that hasn't turned out great, until these cookies came along.
  • Were they perfect?  NO!
  • Were they terrible?  NO!
  • Do they look like the cookies on Bru Crew Life?  NO!
  • So what's the problem?  It was the organic cake mix we used :(

Sometimes you've got to give in a just buy a Betty Crocker or Duncan Hines cake mix.  A classic is just that!

For this reason, I'm only giving this recipe One-Thumb Up and will reserve the other for the next time my daughter makes these cookies using regular "classic" cake mix.

If you want to see what these cookies should have looked like, please click on the Bru Crew Life link above.

I've also posted this recipe at The Country Cook's Weekend Potluck Post.  Take a look at all the wonderful recipes linked onto her post.

1 Chcocolate Cake Mix (not organic)
1/2 cup Butter, softened
2 cups browned Bananas, mashed
1 tsp Vanilla
1/2 cup miniature Chocolate Chips
1 cup Peanut Butter Cups, chopped
1/2 cup Reese's Pieces

  1. YUM! Any cookies with Reeses have my attention!

  2. You know, I have never tried an organic cake mix before. I guess I better be even more specific on what ingredients I use:-) They still look like they would have been really good:-) As for getting to look like mine...don't stir the reeses in all the way. You don't want the cake to cover the candies so much! Thank you so much for trying my recipe and sharing the link love:-)

  3. They still look yummy even with organic cake mix, but sometimes you just gotta give in & let Betty do the work, lol :) I will be trying this with regular mix cause these babies sounds too good

  4. YUM YUM...muy interesante sin huevoo y muy útil realmente lucen exquisitas intentaré preparar, abrazos hugs, hugs.

  5. Dear Ellen, These cookies look irresistible!! A great way to use up left over candy! Blessings my dear, your friend, Catherine xo

  10. Pshhh who cares they still look great and are prob. better for you than the originals :)

  11. You may not consider them worthy of two thumbs, but they look amazing. I love the classic pb and chocolate combination, so I'm betting I would devour these.
